『方丈記』の出演依頼をするためメカスに会いに、メカスがやっているマンハッタンの映画館に2016年の夏、行った。その時、一緒に付き添ってくれた親友が数日前にメールをくれた。「メカスが肉体をはなれたよ」って。メカスの旅はこれで終わった、、、のだろうか？
